press
following a flurry of activity over the 24 hours after the initial release of "robin mitchell presents: mystery white boy," things seemed to be going well.
mystery white boy was pleased to have gained several fans, especially having been unknown (and in fact practically non-existent) before the music hit the internet.
feedback has been limited, and it is unlikely that there will be any reviews in the media. in fact, it is unlikely that anything more will be said on the matter, so mystery white boy decided to sum it up himself. he released the following statement in the evening of august 22nd, 2008:
"robin mitchell presents: mystery white boy" is without doubt a triumphant debut. featuring delicate, skippy synthesizers, glitchy drum beats, hushed singing and even some white-boy rapping (it's just "talking over music," apparently), the recordings refuse to fall into the rut of "samey-ness" that so many first-timers are guilty of inhabiting. in fact, using half the space of a normal album, mystery white boy has managed to achieve much, picking up and discarding stylistic elements and applying them as he sees fit to beautifully crafted arrangements and thoughtfully penned songs throughout a mere 20 minutes (6 tracks).
taking the threads of robin mitchell's "second semester ep," (which was not without its shaky moments) and tying them together with three brand new songs with much style and variety, mystery white boy has created a project of perfect listenable length and quality that guarantees pleasure to all, even those who find that moody electro-pop records are not normally in their collection.

disclaimer
"mystery white boy" was the name of a tour by jeff buckley, and a subsequent live album (released post-humously in 2000).
mystery white boy is now the name of robin mitchell's evil alter-ego/clone, who makes electronic music from his home in a deep dark cave.
mystery white boy was named as a tribute to jeff buckley, who remains a huge influence on robin's work. it is also a very fitting name for such a curious character.
as far as we know, there are no legal issues arising from his use of the name. however, should such issues become apparent, mystery white boy is prepared to discuss them like a gentleman, or to fight tooth and claw.

introducing...
"mystery white boy" is an alias of singer-songwriter robin mitchell, who needed a new outlet for his weird, melancholy electro-pop music so as to distinguish it from his weird, melancholy bluesy-folk music.
little is known about mystery white boy: he resides in darkness, he talks in whispers, he likes massive coatings of reverb, pretty synthesizer sounds and glitchy drum-beats.
