a work in progress

mystery white boy is working on his debut lp, currently known as "utopia." this will be an 8-track cd/digi-release of songs inspired by u2's pop, eg & alice's 24 years of hunger, portishead's dummy and the cooper temple clause's kick up the fire... as well as many other artists such as massive attack, radiohead, jeff buckley, calexico and gorillaz.

mystery white boy has just about laid down the backing tracks for the songs, and needs consistent reminders of his limitations - he is not a five-piece band, or even a duo, he does not have multi-million pound studio equipment, he is working entirely on a laptop and using one mic. nevertheless, he is getting some good sounds fitting with the style (grunge-pop/trip-hop/alt-rock) and themes (urban/social-political) and is very excited about what he is calling his "best work ever."

the album is scheduled for release early 2009...
